They both have their good sides, but overall I prefer cats. Dogs interaction requirements remind me too much of children's requirements. I think when I retire it's possible my preference would change. I don't feel I have the time to devote to a dog right now and do all the other things I want to do. In retirement that might change.
If I think what turns me off about dogs, it's their smell, noise and neediness. By contrast, I like that cats are independent, self cleaning, and less noisy.
Best things about dogs though: First best thing: The ability to exercise with them. Second best thing: they've evolved alongside people and have a special bond with us. Third best thing: I think that because of that, they may have more emotional empathy and emotional intelligence than cats.
If you feel you've been accidentally removed, let me know! I know some people read without posting, but if I haven't seen you post in a long while I removed you, thinking you were inactive.
boring household stuff like rugs and towels!
My life seems blessedly free of bullies these days, but in elementary, secondary and high school they were everywhere. I have such empathy for kids (or adults!) that go through bullying situations. It really does make your life a living hell, and for me it affected my personality and reactions on into adulthood.
It gets better, it really does. Too bad it takes 20-30 years.
One of the best questions so far! At first it was an empathic NO WAY. But by the end of yesterday I think I would do it. You could always pay someone to look up stuff on the internet for you.
But seriously, I love the internet and all it's charms. I'm continually amazed, thinking how much more isolated I was in the past from information and people with similar interests. But of course people have lived for eons without it and most of the world still does live without it, and quite happily.
Still, if this offer really existed, it would become, over time, harder and harder to comply as internet becomes even more widespread and therefore, the default for most routes of Getting Things Done. Imagine 40 years from now and trying to use paper to pay a bill, or to get a statement for your account.

Ha! Sheldon from Big Bang Theory. I'm catching up with the old episodes and he's a hoot. I'm sure it'd be a very OCD dinner but I'd be smiling inside at his answers to questions.
I think if people grew up that way they'd be used to it, of course. If it happened all of a sudden, at first it would be a train wreck for a lot of folks. You'd definitely get some people splitting up.
But others, you'd hear the same complaints back AT you "Well I know you think I have an ugly chin!" and you'd be forced to see just as things were revealed to you, you've revealed things as well.
You'd go to work or school and hear everyone else complaining about the same issues, and it would just become normality. You might even hear stuff from your friends like "Well your partner's right, you DO have an ugly chin!"
You might threaten or consider to leave your partner at first, but I think most people would settle down and accept eventually. You'd see that you were hearing a lot of harsh truth from everyone around you, not just your partner.
People who did split from their relationships would have an interesting time of it dating, that's for sure. Your criteria for a good relationship might change a bit.
